This course will continue to develop the communication skills covered in English Communication I. Through coordinated classes and teaching materials, students will be exposed to the 4 skills, but with a focus on 'listening' and 'writing.'
This course aims to improve students' listening and writing
skills. Homework and classwork exercises focus on topics familiar and
interesting to students.
1. Increase understanding of natural English communication including phoneme awareness and blended speech.
2. Be able to write a coherent cause & effect and a comparison/contrast paragraph within a 3-paragraph essay structure.
3. Have a good understanding of the writing process in English from outline to re-writing.
4. Have increased awareness of correct English grammar and greater writing competence at the paragraph and essay level.

You must attend classes. Your grade will be reduced if you are absent. If you are more than twenty minutes late for a class, you will be marked as absent on that day. If you are late twenty minutes or less, you will be marked as late on that day. Three late attendances count as one absence. If you are absent four times, you will FAIL this course.
